An exciting weeks archaeology revealed some fantastic finds including an intact turntable ring, salt pan flue system, remnants of a tipper mechanism, a 2.4m deep loading bay and datable pottery from the 1600s.

The week was rounded off with our first Beer Festival, which proved a big hit with the thirsty diggers.

 

A great week was had by all the volunteers who came to dig - bring on next year!
