On 9th & 10th September, along side our main archaeological dig, Wessex Archaeology and 1722 Waggonway Heritage Group will be conducting a geophysical survey (magnetometry) on land around the route of the waggonway near Cockenzie.
Participants will get hands-on experience with geophysical survey equipment and surveying techniques as well as helping to search for remains associated with Scotland’s oldest railway.
