We have today installed the National Transport Trust commemorative plaque, which recognises the 1722 Waggonway as a site of national importance.
It’s great for the waggonway to be recognised in this way and shows how far the project has come in promoting it as a heritage asset for the area.
It’s on the wall at the museum on West Harbour Rd, so keep an eye out if you’re passing.
All being well, the plaque will receive its official unveiling on 21st September!
