The Waggonway Heritage Centre will open for a special open day to mark the beginning of the waggonway’s tri-centennial year.
We’ll be open from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 8th January, showcasing the spectacular archaeological finds which feature in this weeks new series of Digging for Britain (BBC2, 6th Jan, 8pm).
Guided tours of the salt pan archaeological site and historic Cockenzie Harbour, (featuring in situ 19th century waggonway remnants) will run at 11am and 2pm (and ad hoc in between if there is demand).
Entry to the heritage Centre is FREE but we welcome donations, and don’t forget we also have great waggonway memberships, gifts and souvenir items for sale too.
We’ll look forward to seeing you soon!
*Covid measures are in place, so please respect others personal space, wear a mask when visiting and use the hand sanitisers provided.
