Our dig at Cockenzie Harbour is fast approaching and we can now release some key information about what is happening and how to visit the dig.
Dates - Thurs 7th to Sun 10th September
Public visiting times - 10am-4pm
Site tours at 1200, 1300, 1400 on Fri & Sat, and at 1100 & 1200 on Sun (tours start at the dig site and finish at the Waggonway Museum HQ
Drop-in tasks are available to help with - spoil sieving and finds cleaning
A finds processing centre will be based at the CFA Archaeology warehouse at the Harbour
Please note that access to the footpath at the dig site will be closed during the dig - alternative routes are available via the nearby steps or by Cockenzie High Street
We'll be keeping you all update with dig updates via Facebook and YouTube throughout the excavations and we do hope you'll pop along to see the dig in person!
